The Group has about 15 Observers at any time, all of whom are volunteers who have all passed the Advanced Driving Test and then followed a period of training to become Observers. All of the Group’s Observers are independently qualified by The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).
IAM RoadSmart have decided that all Observers should now be qualified to National Observer standard; most of GAM’s Observers are already at this standard, with just a few going through the training process to become National Observers. However, some of the Observers have gained further driving qualifications, whether it be a Masters or a Fellow qualification.
