The GAM Committee has the following vacancies and would be very interested in hearing from new GAM Members who would be willing to undertake these roles.  Training will be provided for each role.  Please apply to the <a href=\"mailto: chairman@guildford-iam.org.uk\">Chairman<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto: secretary@guildford-iam.org.uk\">Secretary<\/a>.  The roles shown below are in no specific order as we desire people with specific interests and skills to perform these roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vice Chair<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chairing committee meetings in the absence of the Chair.  Representing GAM occasionally at IAM RS meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Treasurer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>ROLE PURPOSE: \u00a0To manage the Group\u2019s finances and provide the required financial reporting internally and externally.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Keep financial accounts and manage financial affairs of the Group<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Make online bank &amp; card payments<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Produce Gift Aid submission to arrange Gift Aid refund for Group (annual)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Produce financial reports for presentation at Committee Meetings (bi-monthly)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Produce year end accounts and present to AGM (annual)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Arrange for financial audits of annual accounts (annual)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Liaison with Charity Commissioners, including making annual returns<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>QUALIFICATIONS\/SKILLS\/ATTRIBUTES<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Good numeracy skills and ability to use Excel (Accounts and reports via Excel workbook)<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deputy Membership Secretary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>&nbsp; <strong>POSITION:<\/strong> MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>ROLE:<\/strong> To manage the lists of GAM Members and Associates, distribute membership information, and process new and renewal membership requests. The post holder is a key member of the Group committee so shall be a Full IAM Member. &nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong> Keep an up-to-date list of all GAM Members, Friends, Associates and other contacts. Control GAM Member data in strict accordance with GDPR and IAM-RS requirements. Co-ordinate GAM membership lists with IAM-RS DARTS database and make routine adjustments to those lists. Liaise with IAM RS on all membership matters and be the IAM point of contact for new Associate allocation and other general communications. &nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>SPECIFIC DUTIES:<\/strong> Keep GAM membership lists secure and up-to-date, with relevant contact details and contact preferences (Sharepoint folders). Create and distribute annual GAM Membership renewal forms, collect and manage responses, record and manage incoming and outgoing member data. Check that GAM members are still IAM members (an IAM-RS rule). Chase members whose membership expires and attempt to keep them engaged with the Group. Liaise with the Group Treasurer to reconcile member names with membership fees, and chase defaulters. Provide Treasurer with annual return data for Gift Aid. Liaise with Associate Co-ordinator and AOR Manager in relation to Associates, Free Tasters, Member driving reviews etc. Congratulate those who have passed their test and welcome them to GAM full membership. Be available on the telephone and e-mail to communicate with Members and the public. Distribute ad-hoc membership e-mails and other communications. Order Observer clothing from IAM as required. Report to committee meetings. &nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>QUALIFICATIONS\/SKILLS\/ATTRIBUTES Willingness to keep in touch with members and IAM staff, by telephone and\/or e-mail. Carry out simple computer tasks, data listings and analysis. Preparation of occasional reports. \u00a0<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:<\/strong> The work is almost all home based, expenses being reimbursed as required, with occasional committee meetings and group liaison as necessary. A good working knowledge of the IAM and the Group is required, with a patient telephone manner, and a diplomatic approach to members of the public. &nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Newsletter Editor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accepting and making contributions regarding motoring matters that will likely be of interest to Members and Associates and liaise with the printers for four editions per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Marketing Manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To increase the number of Associates being coached by the Group, which could include asking dealerships to publicise the existence of the advanced driving test to individuals purchasing a new or used car.
