TIRED motorists are putting lives at risk as an estimated 2.3million drivers have dozed off behind the wheel.
Road safety charity Brake and breakdown service Green Flag have released research that found that 78% of drivers rely on ineffective measures such as opening a window or listening to the radio to beat tiredness instead of pulling over to take a nap, as recommended.
A shocking one-in-14 people admitted falling asleep while driving in the past year and a quarter said they had been a passenger with a tired driver. More... |
